Headshot of Barbara Accetta.Barbara Accetta, VP of Administrative Services

When my husband, Don, and I moved to Westwood with our family in 1986, we joined the Temple Beth David community. Shortly after the Temple burned down in 1987, I served as the Treasurer, on the Executive Committee and as a Board Member helping to rebuild the Temple at its current location. Our daughter, Deborah, grew up at the Temple and had her Bat Mitzvah at the new Temple site. Now, Don and I live in Walpole, and we enjoy seeing our grandchildren, Leif Pederson and Freya Pederson attend Shorashim.  In addition to serving on the Board in the past, I most recently served on the Early Learning Task Force and Committee for Shalom Corner, the Afghan Resettlement Project Committee and search committee for new staff for the Temple.  I am a retired attorney and look forward to serving again on the Executive Committee and Board of the Temple.

Alyson Miller, VP of Member Resources

Alyson and her husband Scott have been temple members for over 10 years. They live in Westwood with their children Cameron, Ella, and Abigail. They attended TBD’s religious school since age 5, became B’nai Mitzvah in 2018 and were confirmed May 2021. They have all served as madrichim. She has been an educator/teacher for over 30 years, and is currently a Literacy specialist and interventionist as well as a teacher/parent consultant for Special Education. This background has assisted TBD as she has served on the Adult Education committee, the Early Learning Center committee for the development of Shalom Corner, and most recently chaired the committee for the Director Hire of Shalom Corner. Her family loves being involved in the temple in multiple ways.

Gary Shillin, Treasurer

My wife, Phoebe Peabody, son, Asher and I live in Westwood and have been members of Temple Beth David for about seven years. Asher attends the Religious School program and recently became confirmed. The Temple is a large part of our lives – from meaningful worship, to spiritual guidance, and lastly, the comfort of community and friendship. Having the unique perspective as a new congregant, I became a member of the Board of Trustees in 2018 and given my business background have assisted with a number of treasury functions, such as managing payroll and collaborating on other fiscal matters, as well as participating on the Finance Committee. I’ve worked in the healthcare industry for over 30-years and oversee administrative operations for the Emergency Medicine network practices associated with Beth Israel Lahey Health system.
